Miss Ballymena & Miss Gillies crowned at Therapie Miss NI heat

Two local 20-year-olds are through to the Therapie Miss Northern Ireland final following their success in the recent fifth local heat of the competition held at Gillies Bar, Galgorm.

Girls from across the country competed for their place at the final in front of an astute judging panel which included model agent Alison Clarke, Beth Swindlehurst (Marketing Manager of Galgorm), former Miss Northern Ireland Lucy Evangelista, current Miss Northern Ireland Rebekah Shirley and Lauren Aiken (Therapie Clinic representative).

Catherine McKillop from Ballymena was crowned “Miss Gillies” and Ashleigh Woods from Ballymena was chosen as “Miss Ballymena” and both girls now go forward to the grand final in Belfast’s Europa Hotel in May.

Competition organiser Alison Clarke said: “It was great to be back at Gillies again this year and what a brilliant night had by all. Ballymena never disappoints with the calibre of girls who enter, once again it was a fabulous night and a huge congratulations to the winning girls and a big thank you to all who came along!”

Guest judge Lauren Aiken, representative of Therapie Clinic and this year’s title sponsor added: “What a fantastic night at Gillies. I have been told this heat has always been a strong one and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was brilliant and all the girls looked amazing. Congratulations to Catherine McKillop and Ashleigh Woods, and a big thank you for all who made the night so special.”

Also extending congratulations to Catherine and Ashleigh, last year’s winner, Rebekah Shirley added: “I am so excited to get to know all of the girls as they embark on their Miss Northern Ireland journey and I would like to wish them the very best of luck!”
