MP delighted by lottery funding

North Antrim MP Ian Paisley has highlighted the number of recent funding successes that local charities and initiatives have been awarded from the Big Lottery Fund.

He said: “Organisations such as the Country Playgroup, who were awarded £10,000 from the fund, are a group that provide care for young children in rural areas around Ballymena. The project will provide care equipment that will aid the children’s social and physical development.

“I would also point out that other projects such as the Braid Water Senior Group and Connaughtliggar Cultural Group are focused on helping older members of the community by organising activities and putting on special events in their respective areas.

“I am delighted to see how many of our local groups have been able to benefit from the Big Lottery Fund. The amount of hard work, often voluntary that goes on behind the scenes on these initiatives is remarkable and to receive that extra help goes a long way.”
