Museum accredited again
Ballymena Councillors have been delighted to learn that Mid-Antrim Museum at The Braid has retained Accredited Status - the UK standard for museums and galleries.
The news was brought to a Council committee last week by curator Jayne Clarke who pointed out that it is “a baseline quality standard that helps guide museums to be the best they can be for current and future users” and added that external grand awarding bodies such as the Heritage Lottery Fund and NI Museums Council have a policy of only funding Accredited Museums.
Cllr Declan O’Loan commented: “It is an indication of the very professional way in which our museum is run”.
