The Select Vestry of St Patrick’s Church, Ballymena, is seeking to recruit three young musicians to its choir.

Music forms a very prominent role in the worship at St Patrick’s, Castle Street, whose choir of some 15 members sings two services each Sunday.

To ensure the longevity of this long tradition, the church is ideally seeking one further alto, tenor and bass singer.

In return for this contribution to the choir, the Vestry of the church is offering a one-year music scholarship to each of the three new recruits.

Each scholarship will amount to 35 free 30 minute lessons, equivalent to £525, in any combination of voice, piano, organ and theory tuition (to diploma standard), taught by the organist and choirmaster of St Patrick’s, Dr Jonathan Drennan.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be directed in the first instance to Dr Drennan (email: or telephone 079 0385 6927).
