Narrow escape for Ballymena couple

A Ballymena couple who were targeted in an attack which bears all the hallmarks of islamaphobia have shown photographers how the blazing petrol bomb crashed through their front window in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Margaret Ibrahim along with her husband Amin Ibrahim, who is a Muslim, were pictured in their Kintyre Park, Ballymena home after a petrol bomb attack.

Locals have expressed shock at the incident.

One neighbour said the couple had been living in the area for a long time.

“They are quiet people who never caused anoy bother to anyone here,” he said.
