More than 70 Housing Executive homes in the district have benefitted from a kitchen replacement scheme representing an investment of over £350,000.

Ms Fleming says she’s over the moon with her new larger kitchen.

“There was a small back hall but that was taken away when the kitchen units were installed, now I can fit in a dining table.

“It means I spend a lot more time in the kitchen, I’m in here all the time.”

Ms Fleming was one of 72 households in the Ballymena town and nearby rural areas to benefit from a kitchen makeover.

Welcoming the investment, Area Manager, Mairead Myles Davey, said: “A kitchen is the heart of a home that’s why it’s so important that tenants are given the option of choosing their own units, worktops and tiles, so they are getting the kitchen they really want.

“It’s lovely to meet Emily and see first-hand the improvements in tenants’ homes, which brings benefits to their lives every day.

“This investment is building on the Housing Executive’s continued commitment to maintain and improve our homes.”

The kitchen replacement scheme was carried out in partnership with contractors, Dixons.
