American’s praise for Kylie

SIR - I just had to write from our outpost in the former crown colony of Virginia and express my admiration and that of my comrades for the actions and charm of LCpl Kylie Watson.

I write this sitting not 1500yds from where the illustrious Irish Brigade gave their all in one gallant rush at the battle of Fredericksburg in 1862. They were the only Yankees who got remotely close to our works below Maryes Heights that December day. Their bravery and “Pluck” as you put it was exemplary. We cheered them, despite the adversarial circumstances at the time.

Apparently that spirit lives on.

Kylie Watson is, in short, what we refer to as a “Take home to mom,” kind of girl.

She’s lovely, brave, dedicated to her people and possessed with the heart of a lioness. It fills us with a soldiers pride and endearment.

If this is the kind of girl that N. Ireland and County Antrim is producing, sign us up!

You and all of yours have our most highest regards from the land across the sea.

Erin go bragh and, in Kylie’s case, “Faugh a Ballagh!”

I remain your humble and obedient servant,
