Organised crime arrests

Two men have been arrested in the Ballymena area as part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering and insurance fraud.

The men, aged 34 and 50, were detained by detectives from Organised Crime Branch on Wednesday morning and are being questioned at Ballymena police station about money laundering.

A police spokesperson said: “This brings to 29 the number of suspects who have been arrested and questioned since May as part of an investigation which is expected to continue for some time.

“The 27 suspects previously arrested are all on police bail pending the completion of enquiries in this investigation.”
