Packed week of fun in Kells & Connor

A fun-filled package of events has been lined up for the twin villages of Kells and Connor over the coming week.

The events will include special activities designed to link in with the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.

The fun gets started on Tuesday May 27 with a mixed doubles badminton tournament in the Community Centre 7.15pm Entry £3.00

On Saturday, June 2, the Seven Towers School of Dancing will be holding a mini-festival in the community centre from 9am onwards.

And from 10am to 1pm, Kells Presbyterian will be the venue for a ‘Queen’s Jubilee celebration with bouncy castle, face painting and much more. All children muts be accompanied by an adult.

On Monday evening, June 4, the Kells and Connor Community Iprovement Association will host their Jubilee party at the Community Centre from 2-4pm with traditional games, Royal fancy dress and lots of other fun and games.

Wednesday, June 6 will see the Kilgad Fishery competition (free entry) which should be a fun night for all age groups starting at 6.30pm.

On the same night, there will be a kettlebells fitness class at Connor Orange Hall at 7.15pm (entry £5).

Kells Presbyterianb Luncheon Club will meet on Thursday June 7. Later that evening there will be a ‘strollers and striders’ walk at Greenmount Hill Farm. Participants are asked to meet at the community centre for 7pm.

Still on Thurdsday evening, there will be a ‘bowls for fun’ event at St. Saviour’s Church Hall at 7.30pm and the Kells playing fields will be the venue for a teenage 7-a-side football tournament at 7pm. Entry fee for this event is £14 per team.

It’s time to get your thinking caps on to come up with the best outfit or idea for the Tiny Tots ‘Royal Fancy Dress Parade’ which takes place on Friday, June 8. The parade leaves the community centre at 10am and will pass through Templemoyle and on past the Spar to the playgroup facilities.

That evening, Ferniskey Junior Lodge will hold their sports night at Kells Playing Fields at 7pm.

On Saturday, June 9 there will be a primary age junior dance workshop at the community centre from 11.30am to 12.30pm. Entry £3.
