Palace pride for ‘Kilted Runner’
Mr. Tommy Millar, for many years a pipe band columnist with the Ballymena Times, pictured with wife Ellen outside Buckingham Palace after his investiture as an MBE.
Known in piping circles as the ‘Kilted Runner’, Tommy was also a well known commentator at major pipe band contests for Radio Ulster and BBC Television.
His service to the pipe band scene right across the United Kingdom and further afield resulted in him being awarded the honour.
