Several businesses across the wider Larne and Carrickfergus areas teamed up for the project in support of Women's Aid ABCLN.

A total of £5520 was presented to the charity, which works across the Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey areas, last week.

Those involved documented dozens of local families within the grounds of their homes, while adhering to government guidelines on social distancing and travel.

The initiative came about after many photographers were forced to temporarily shut up shop during the lockdown period.

Caroline Smyth, the main organiser of the project said, "I was starting to struggle not taking photographs after my weddings were cancelled and the studio had to close. I also wanted to raise awareness and money for local women who needed the services of Women's Aid aid during lockdown.

"The level of domestic abuse cases reported has shot up since lockdown started, which is just heartbreaking. Not everyone is safe at home."

Thanking all of those who were involved in the project, a spokesperson for Women's Aid ABCLN said : “[We are] absolutely delighted Caroline Smyth and her team of dedicated photographers have raised an incredible £5,520 for our work with women and children affected by domestic abuse.

"This money will enable us to provide emergency response to those who need our help the most in the local community and, thanks to the tremendous amount donated by each and every family that took part, will help us continue our vital work with children and young people across this area.”
