Small grants scheme open to applicants
Live Here Love Here, has announced the return of its Small Grants Scheme in partnership with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
The scheme aims to financially support community based environmental projects across Northern Ireland who need financial support to maintain their efforts for creating a cleaner, greener and safer place to live.
Residents of the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area are being encouraged to apply, with successful applicants receiving a grant between £500 to £3,000.
Live Here Love Here’s Small Grants Scheme helps communities to instill civic pride by providing practical support to volunteer projects that enhance and protect the environment and improve the health and wellbeing of community members.
Examples of volunteer activities include engaging young people to improve their local environment, transforming neglected spaces, reducing littering and dog fouling through community action and community food growing initiatives.
Helen Tomb, Manager at Live Here Love Here commented: “Live Here Love Here’s supporters have made a real difference in their communities throughout the pandemic.
“Their efforts to nurture their local spaces have been inspiring. So far, we’ve been excited to see applications from innovative projects that support environmental challenges such as biodiversity recovery, pollution solutions and climate action.”
