Plan to net ‘Global Alumni’

Ballymena Council is planning to set up a world-wide network of high profile people who would be prepared to champion the borough.

The idea to establish a ‘Global Alumni’ was brought to last Monday night’s monthly meeting of the local authority.

Council chief executive Anne Donaghy explained that a’global network of champions’ could support the work being done by Council in relation to its Economic Strategy which includes the development of 17 key sites in the borough. Councillors also heard that the establishment of a ‘digital network’ would further promote “the PR message” for and about Ballymena and that the £20,000 cost of progressing this was available within the Economic Development Strategy budget.
