Poetic tribute to the Olympic torch

The Olympic torch arrived in town

And we are all delighted

Children jumping up and down

Everyone’s excited

And the rain came tumbling down

Is it never going to fair

Umbrellas every where

Wet feet and wetter hair

Bring it on, we don’t care

And the rain came tumbling down

Here it comes, up goes the shout

Got to get my camera out

Someone’s bumped into my arm

But it’s only a false alarm

And the rain came tumbling down

The torch is on it’s way at last

Got my camera out real fast

I’m struggling with my umbrella

Want a photo of this brave young fella

And the rain came tumbling down

What a show and what a day

As the crowds all go away

The photo I took of a brave young fella

Turned out to be my umbrella

And you guessed it

The rain came down!
