Reader concern at underage drinking

According to a Ballymena Times reader, a “disturbing pattern” of anti-social behaviour has begun to emerge in the vicinity of Tullygarley Community Centre.

According to him, a “high amount” of alcohol is being consumed there at the weekends, evidenced by discarded bottles.

He told us: “Most Sundays I walk my dog near here and could not help being horrified at the sheer amount of empty alcohol containers discarded all over the ground at the community centre as well as in the local playground. It makes me wonder who is consuming the alcohol and if they are underage then who is supplying it.

“It is ironic that a community centre should bring the locals together but it has on this occasion the complete opposite of the intended effect,” he added.
