Rotarians step out and raise £1,000 for Alzheimer’s

MEMBERS and friends of Ballymena Rotary Club have ‘walked the walk’ for a worthy cause.

They stepped out in June at the Ecos Centre in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society and last Tuesday, July 31, handed over the £1,000 proceeds.

There was a fantastic turnout of walkers on the day despite wet weather conditions and great support was shown for the charity.

The Alzheimer’s Society work hard to improve the quality of life of those affected by dementia and the money will go towards helping many people with the condition.

Lisa Hendley of Alzheimer’s Society said: “We are extremely grateful for the funds raised by Ballymena Rotary. This will go a long way in continuing with the work we are doing with Alzheimer’s”
