Safety measures introduced at accident blackspot

Local MLA Daithí McKay has welcomed work carried out at Lisnahunshin Road by Transport NI with the support of the PSNI following a fatal accident there a few months ago.

Speaking last week after attending a meeting with the statutory agencies at Ballymena Council, Mr McKay said: “It is to be very much welcomed that statutory agencies have given a lot of consideration to this junction since, and indeed before, the fatal accident that took place here.

“Some measures have already been introduced and the works being proposed by Transport NI should be finished entirely within the next few months.

“Extra signage and rumble strips leading up to the junction are among the measures being introduced and hopefully this will help both local drivers and those less familiar with the roads in this area,” he said.
