Seagate Bursary for local student

A Ballymena student has been awarded the Seagate Technology Bursary worth £7,000.

Thomas Fyfe is currently in his second year at Queen’s University (QUB) studying for a Master’s degree in Physics. This Bursary, which launched last year, is awarded to one student studying a MSci Physics at QUB with a value of over £7,000 over three years.

In addition to the annual payments and book supplements offered by the scholarship, there is also the opportunity for real-life research and development experience through three paid summer internships. Thomas, who has a particular interest in the field of Nanotechnology, said: “The Seagate bursary is a fantastic opportunity for me to work for a global leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of Hard Disc Drives.”
