Sentence adjourned in '˜Ecos flasher' case

Recently Ballymena Magistrates Court heard how a dog walker out for a Sunday morning stroll in the town’s Ecos Park spoke to a passer-by who then followed her and exposed his genitals and performed a sex act upon himself.

The incident happened on January 31 this year and in court previously Dean Bryans (21), from Orkney Drive, pleaded guilty to two charges of indecent exposure relating to two women on that date.

The charges are that he intentionally exposed his genitals intending that two females would see them and be caused alarm or distress.

Defence barrister Neil Moore previously said that during police interview his client admitted he had committed similar offences on more than one occasion.

As a prosecutor outlined the facts at the recent court, District Judge Peter King halted the case and said he needed a pre-sentence report and adjourned the case to November 27.

When the case was before the court in August, Bryans was released on his own bail of £500 and as part of his bail conditions he was banned from entering the Ecos Park or contacting the injured parties or any witnesses.
