Shoplifting duo warned that their liberty is 'at risk'

TWO women have been warned that they could face a prison sentence after admitting a wave of shoplifting offences.

Katarzyna Grzegorek (36), with an address at Upper Prices Street, and Joanna Sejbuk (34), with an address at Kincora, each admitted eight counts of shoplifting and a charge of obstructing police, when they appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

They admitted stealing goods worth a total value of more than 700 from eight different stores in the town’s two shopping centres.

The duo will be sentenced on May 13, after pres-sentence probation reports were ordered.

On that date, they will also face further charges of shoplifting and going equipped for theft. Grzegorek also faces a further charge of possessing an air rifle without a certificate.

District Judge Des Perry warned: “There is a possibility of their liberty being at risk.”
