Sport Relief fun run? Never on a Sunday, says Clarke
“I am against this event because it is being held on The Lord’s Day. As a Christian I cannot support it, “ said Cllr. Clarke.
“I’m not against the actual event,” he added, “but I have to say, there are six other days in the week”.

Hide AdAs one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives.
The Ballymena event will set off pitch side at the Ballymena Showgrounds, on Sunday, March 25, will pass through/take in the Showgrounds arena, and the sights of the ECOS Centre and is set to be an incredible event.
Entrants don’t have to be sporty to take part, but can choose to complete 1, 3 or 6 miles knowing that all the money raised will help to change the lives of people living unimaginably tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some the world’s poorest countries.
The event is being organised by Ballymena United Football Club in association with Ballymena Runners Athletic Club.
