St Patrick's pupils reach out to Assembly

YEAR 12s at St Patrick's College recently enjoyed an insight into the workings of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

The Citizenship pupils , who participated in the event organised by the Education service, also had an opportunity to take part in a voting activity.

The session was attended by MLA for North Antrim Robert Coulter who spoke about his role as an Assemblyman.

A spokeswoman for the College said: “The programme was extremely beneficial to all those who took part as it gave them the chance to learn about the importance of Northern Ireland Assembly particularly as Rev Dr Robert Coulter MLA was able to demonstrate this with his first hand experience of local politics.

“All of the pupils who took part enjoyed the morning and felt it was a very worthwhile experience as part of their Citizenship course”.
