'Stone throwing is serious' - Adger

BALLYMENA Councillor Beth Adger says parents of young people need to be made aware of the seriousness of stone throwing.

Her comments came at last week’s monthly meeting of Council when she revealed that car windscreens had been broken recently by youths lobbing stones over a wall at The Rosses.

“This is a very dangerous situation and parents need to be made aware of what has happened,” said the Councillor who added that the PSNI had been informed.

“Parents need to be made aware of the seriousness of this,” she said.

Cllr John Carson told the meeting that he had also been contacted about stone-throwers at The Rosses and had subsequently spoken to police.

“Hopefully the matter is now in hand,” he said.
