Thieves steal from 92-year-old woman

The home of a 92-year-old woman was broken into and items worth £5000 stolen.

Detectives are now investigating the burglary which took place in the Ballywatermoy Road area of Clough on Sunday 23 August.

DCI Richard Carmichael said: “A woman aged 92 lives at the house. The doors of the garage were forced open and items worth around £5,000 stolen.

“Detectives are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact us on the non-emergency number 101. We are also reminding people of the importance of locking and securing garages and outbuildings at all times.”
