Top pipers will go solo at unique Seven Towers competition in Services Club

BALLYMENA’S renowned Seven Towers Pipe Band are hosting an invitational solo piping competition featuring the top solo players in Ireland in The Services Club on Saturday, March 19.

The event is the only one of its kind where the audience determine the winner so a large turnout is expected at the evening which starts at 7.30pm.

Each player will give a 15-minute recital and at the end of the competition the audience will cast their vote.

Those taking part are Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band members - Kris Koyle, Conor McAllion, Emmet Conway, James Gore, Johnathon Lamerton and Jonathon Greenlees; St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band (current world champions) members - Philip Tasker, Kevin Rodgers and Scott Wallace; Seven Towers pipe Band member, Amos Gilmore; and, unattached piper, Glen Cupples.

Those who attending the evening, admission is just £6, will also enjoy the rare opportunity to hear rising star Bradley Parker from Portavogie who is curently playing the solo circuit in Scotland.
