Ulster star pays tribute to '˜inspiring' Kieran

Rugby star Darren Cave has paid tribute to 'inspiring' Ballymena man Kieran Bowes, who has died following a brave battle with cancer.

The Ulster and Ireland centre, along with team-mate Andrew Trimble, visited Kieran in hospital before Christmas.

After learning of Kieran’s passing at the weekend, Cave took to Twitter to pay his own tribute to the popular 21-year-old.

He Tweeted: “Very saddened to hear that Kieran Bowes has passed away after a brave and inspiring fight with cancer.”

Cave’s tribute was re-Tweeted by his club and international colleague Trimble.

Kieran’s funeral service will take place at Stevenson’s Funeral home this Thursday, February 18, at 2pm.

From there, the cortege will travel to Ballymena Rugby Club before his burial will take place at Ballee cemetery.

Following the service, everyone is welcome back to the rugby club to celebrate Kieran’s life.
