Vis-Art Club gets ready for annual exhibitionstrength

TO mark the Braid Arts Festival’s silver anniversary, Ballymena Vis-Art Club will be holding its annual exhibition in the Museum Gallery (level 2) from Saturday, April 21, to Tuesday, May 1.

Some 250 paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolour and pastel will be on display and sale at the exhibition which will be open daily from 10am-4pm and 6-9pm.

Commissions from the sales of paintings and catalogues will be donated to Castle Tower School and paintings by pupils of the school will be displayed alongside those of Vis-Art members.

The Club meets every Wednesday from 10am-12.30pm, September to April, at the Michelin Social Club with kind permission of Michelin to whom the club have extended thanks.

The lively sessions for members of all abilities feature tutors who can help and advise and new members are always welcome.

In the last year, the Club have been treated to demonstrations from invited artists including Roger Waring from the Pastel Society of Ireland, Paul Wilson , Julian Friars (former president of the Royal Ulster Academy), and Jeff Monaghan of the Ulster Watercolour Society and Arts Society of Ulster.
