Wedding band among jewellery stolen in burglary

Detectives are appealing for information about a burglary at a house in The Grange area of Ballymena during which a jewellery box was taken.

According to police, the house was broken into sometime between 3.50pm and 5.10pm on the afternoon of Thursday, July 9.

Some of the jewellery items include a Pandora charm bracelet, two sterling silver Tiffany bracelets, a silver Gucci bracelet, a silver chain with a cubic zirconia stone and an antique gold wedding band which had particular sentimental value to the owner, police said.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Carmichael said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this burglary, or the items taken, to contact detectives at Ballymena Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
