Woman dies in road crash

A woman, aged in her 50’s, has died following a two vehicle road traffic collision on the Lisnevenagh Road between Antrim and Ballymena on Tuesday, police have confirmed.

The woman was the driver of a Ford car that was involved in a collision with a BMW car shortly before 8.45pm. The male driver of the BMW was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

Inspector John Allen is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Lisnevenagh Road around the time of the collision to contact officers in the Collision Investigation Unit or local police in Ballymena on the non-emergency number 101.
