One of the pupils who had his poem chosen, Peter Wilson, a P6 pupil at Camphill Primary School, said: “I chose to write my poem about animals because I love anything to do with animals - and I really enjoy watching animal documentaries. I was really shocked when the letter and certificate came through the post telling me my poem had been chosen. I’m really excited and I can’t wait to see my poem printed in Poetry Detectives.”

Mrs McMaster, Principal of Camphill Primary School, and Mr McClements, Principal of Portglenone Primary School, expressed their delight at being the two schools in the Ballymena area to have their pupils’ work selected for publication.

“It’s a great achievement for the pupils to have their poems published by Young Writers and I hope this will encourage them to continue with their creativity”, said Mrs McMaster.
