Vision4kids thanks Ballymena

Local children’s charity vision4kids would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone in Ballymena who supported them in their recent street collection.

A total of £765.44 was raised on Saturday 26th October.

Vision4kids team member and Ballymena resident Rebekah Bleakley comments: “Over the years the people of the town have provided fantastic support and we have been so encouraged by their generosity and best wishes. And once again on what was a very cold and wet Autumn day, the people of Ballymena showed their kindness.”

Over the past year the vision4kids team have been focusing on helping children of a small Kenyan village called Kiambururu.

Rebekah continues; “The team have established a child sponsor programme for some orphans of the village and now run a school meal project where we know the most needy are getting at least one cooked meal a day in school – we couldn’t have done this without the help of Ballymena folk.

“With local help hundreds of Bibles, books and literature have been sent for use in the children’s outreach and we have plans to build a new school classroom to extend a small primary school to ensure children can continue to be taught close to their homes. All the funds raised from the collection will go towards this project.”
