The Old Ballymoney Road ladies won by a scoreline of 74 shots to 38 to cement their position at the top of the PTWBA Senior League.

Jean Rainey, Pat Allen, Linda McCullough and Donna McCloy made a superb start in their game on rink 1 against R Patterson when they picked up 16 unanswered shots over the first 7 ends.

Eight ends later the margin was up to 20 shots and with the game effectively won the Braid ladies eased off over the closing ends to claim an emphatic 30-14 victory.

On rink 2 Jennie McCready, Maree Houston and Barbara Cameron found themselves trailing by 4 shots after only 2 ends in their game against M Rodgers on rink 2.

The Ballymena ladies however were soon up to speed and by the time the game had reached the half way stage the visitors led by 9 shots to 6.

A further 6 shots over the next couple of ends put the Braid ladies in pole position and they would eventually go on to win this contest by 18 shots to 13.

Eva Gage, Barbara Burnett, Erin Smith and Sarah Jane Coleman took no time to get in to their stride on rink 3 against M McCullouch.

With only 4 ends played the Ballymena rink already had a double digit lead with the score board reading 10-0.

The visitors continued to play the better bowls and 7 ends later the lead was up to 18 shots.

The remaining ends were closer with the final score 26-11 in favour of the Ballymena Ladies.

This week Ballymena Ladies entertain Portstewart.
