Athlete Connor carries on superb form

Fourteen year old Ballymena runner Connor McQuillan claimed a gold medal at last weekends Northern Ireland and Ulster junior cross country championships.

Connor was part of the County Antrim team which recorded a convincing success at Killybeggs in County Donegal. This performance now sees Connor qualify for the all Ireland final in County Wexford.

RUN IN THE DARK 10K

Connor continued his fine run of form last Wednesday night, this time on the road when he made his debut performance at the run in the dark charity 10k staged over a two lap course in the Stormount grounds. In an all adult field of 437 starters Connor finished well up in 4th place crossing the line in 39mins 29secs.

James Wallace celebrated his birthday weekend in fine style when he added to his year long run of personal best performances at the Seeley 10k last Saturday. The Fit N Running athlete clipped 5 seconds of his previous best to finish in 39mins and claim 147th place from an overall field of 950 runners.

Also in action on Saturday was Paula Wallace who produced another fine performance to finish 3 secs off her previous best in 47mins 5 secs.
