Aubrey set to oversee wheelchair basketball tournament

A BALLYMENA man is preparing for a busy week at a major disability sporting event.

Aubrey Bingham is Event Director from Disability Sports NI who will oversee this week’s International Wheelchair Basketball Challenge which runs from today (Tuesday) through to Thursday.

The Antrim Forum is ready to welcome Paralympic teams to train and compete in the International Wheelchair Basketball Challenge as they prepare for the 2012 Paralympic Games.

Eighty athletes from Italy, Poland and Great Britain will compete in the pre-Paralympic Games training event this week and spectators are welcome to cheer on the best in the world when they are right here on our doorstep.

Tickets are free and the organisers, Disability Sports NI, are keen to encourage people to watch the best in the World. Matches will take place in the Antrim Forum this week with the final match at noon on Thursday followed by presentations and the closing ceremony.
