Bears enjoy visit to Newforge Taggers

A BEAUTIFUL Autumn day and what better way to spend it than playing tag rugby and that’s just what Ballymena Bears did down at the Newforge Taggers home ground in Belfast on Sunday.

A strong contingent of Bears travelled, joining in to begin with on the Taggers warm up. New and old friends greeted the Bears and the fun began bright and breezy with slalom poles and ladders.

Nicely warmed up the group broke up into teams and matches started. Sheldon, Eunan and Andrew provided their team with great support and passing work.

Passes and tries were in abundance with Harry, Ethan and Rio making some decisive scores for their team. In the other; Bethany, Liam, Jordan and Jonn all made scorching runs and some great tries were made by Jake and Frank. Well done to everyone for such a great display!

The day was capped off perfectly with a visit from Sparky the Ulster RFC mascot who took time to have his picture taken with all the Bears and mascot Rory.
