But even the Ballymena boxer couldn’t believe the latest show of support from his All Saints Boxing Club team-mates.

Proudly emblazoned on the wall of the Cushendall Road clubrooms is a huge, eye-catching sign illustrating the club’s backing for their man in Rio.

Donnelly, who is putting the finishing touches to his preparations, said: “It’s a proud moment for me seeing this sign being put up and I appreciate it.

“Years of hard word have paid off for me and I will give it 100 per cent in Rio.

“Bring it on and thanks to everyone for their support - let the buzz continue,” added Steven.
