The visitors hit back and with only 3 ends remaining they had cut the deficit to only 2 shots. The Braid ladies however rebuffed the Dunluce charge when they picked up 6 shots over the closing ends to win the contest by 21 shots to 13.

Jennie McCready, Andrea McKeown, Donna McCloy and Barbara Cameron were in unstoppable form against P Calvin on rink 2.

The Braid ladies opened their account with a count of 5 shots and another 4 shots on the 3rd end saw them take charge.

The visitors could only score 2 singles over the opening 13 ends and at this stage of the game the Braid ladies lead by 22 shots.

Each rink scored 3 shots over the remaining ends to leave the final score 28-6.

Eva Gage, Angela Davidson, Pat Allen and Jennifer Dowds had a real fight on their hands on rink 3 against A Elliott.

The Braid ladies took an early 3-1 lead after 4 ends but 8 shots over the next 3 ends gave the visitors the advantage.

Three ends later the Dunluce rink still held a 6 shot advantage but the Ballymena ladies found another gear and over the next 6 ends they picked up 12 unanswered shots to turn a 6 shot deficit in to a 6 shot advantage.
