As in the last few years the race was run on the challenging Clady, Innisrush, Tamlaght circuit. A large turnout of about 150 riders took part in the two races.

The Sizzlers sponsored ‘A’ race was the most eventful of the two with a seven man break happening a short distance into the first lap.

By the end of that lap the break was at 20 seconds and even at this stage never looked like getting caught.

Midway through the race the break had increased to it’s maximum of 1 minute 40 seconds with a second group of five trying unsuccessfully to bridge the gap.

This effort failed and as the race approached the finish line the escapees had a clear minute to settle things among themselves with the strongest finish coming from Lakeland CC’s Philip Bremner who had a small advantage over Cathal Doyle (Carn Wheelers) with Aaron McGready (Phoenix CC). Bann Valley’s Conor McAteer took forth place to follow his first place in the Lakeland GP yesterday.

The Bicycle Shack sponsored ‘B’ race stayed together for the 67km and was eventually won by Barry Convery (Newry Wheelers) with Alan Lyttle (Strabane Lifford) in second and Conor Mullin Roe Valley CC taking the third spot.
