The National Hot Rod World Championship is staged annually during July at the Foxhall Raceway in Suffolk and the Northern Ireland grid slots are awarded to the 6 drivers who collect the most points in the fiercely contested 14 round series. 2012 World Champion Bell currently tops the points table, while it has been a real topsy-turvy campaign for current Northern Ireland Champion Christie.

The Crumlin ace endured a terrible start to the series and was forced to race through the pain barrier with a broken collarbone during the opening stages!

The points gained at those meetings could prove crucial however as Christie attempts to confirm his place at the World Final on Friday evening.

As well as the six World Final representatives the identity of the Northern Ireland Champion will also be confirmed at Raceway.
