Carniny coaching event receives boost from Wellington church

THE arctic conditions may have caused the cancellation of fixtures at all levels within the Ballymena Borough during the past week but use of initiative and assistance of staff at Wellington Church in Ballymena allowed the club's Director of Football Jim Hagan's coaching sessions to go ahead.

All at Carniny are very grateful to the local church for permitting use of their fabulous facilities and allowed the coaching of the various Carniny club teams by the former Celta Vigo and Birmingham City star to go ahead on Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday.

Jim’s coaching of the various team players and mentoring of the club coaches will continue in the New Year further enhancing standards at the club.

In order for the club to continue to grow they are currently on the look out for prospective coaches of the required standard set by the club to work with young people at various levels.

The club will provide the necessary training in order for coaches to achieve the qualifications required to work at the top youth set up.

Already this season the club has sent several coaches to Liverpool, Leicester City and Port Vale Football Clubs as part of their coach development programme and have another three clubs lined up in the New year for visits to build relationships and plan visits hopefully by club players.

Any candidates with enthusiasm, commitment and a knowledge of the game should contact club secretary Billy O’Flaherty as soon as possible on 07795152768 or check website at www.carninyyouthfc.co.uk.
