Clady anglers look forward to year's events

CLADY and District Angling Club club recently held its AGM in the Hawthorn Inn.

Attendance on the night was disappointing but weather conditions and flu certainly had an impact. The chairman opened the meeting by welcoming all those in attendance. This was followed by reports for the 2009 season from the chairman, treasurer and competition secretary.

The chairman's report highlighted the successful season had in 2009 and paid thanks to all who had helped during the past season in the work of riverbank and stile maintenance, bailiff duties, fish stocking and the collection of salmon brood stock and for the grounds work completed at the clubhouse and gave special thanks to farmers for granting access to the river.

He also appealed for the support of all club members with the work of maintaining the river and running the club and asked for more members to attend the AGM.

Any members interested in helping or who have some spare time to carry out maintenance work should contact any office bearer.

Election of office bearers was then carried out by Davy Gordon - which saw all outgoing office bearers retaining their positions and the committee members being re-elected en bloc.

As the new season approaches there are a few dates to mark in your diary.
