Academy into last eight of Ulster Bank Schools' Cup

Ballymena Academy are in the last eight of the Ulster Bank Schools Cricket Cup and will play Campbell College at home in a bid to reach the semi finals.

The Galgorm school secured their quarter final place with a comfortable 48 run victory over Coleraine Grammar School with all rounder John Glass leading the way. He topped scored with 54 in the Academy’s total of 115 for 5 and his 3-10 helped reduce Coleraine to 67 all out.

Academy had an ever bigger win the first round, beating Royal School Dungannon by 98 runs. Glass again scored a half century in a total of 163 for 5. Joel Gocher returned remarkable figures of 5 for 1 as Dungannon tumbled to 65 all out.
