Darnell and Chris grab ‘Blind Pairs’ glory

A great, fun-filled night was had by all.

A total of 47 participants took part, making 24 pairs playing across 4 boards.

On Board 1, Andy Martin and Gwen Henson progressed to the semi-finals with a victory over Roy Gilchrist and Graham Mills. Board 2 witnessed John Elder and Davy Wilson defeated by Darnell McCrory and Chris Greer.

Derek Rainey and Frank McDowell made the semis with a win over Billy Gay and David McFall on Board 3.

And finally, Board 4 saw Ashley Rainey and George Foster triumphed over Dean Kerr Chris Ramsey.

The first semi-final saw Darnell McCrory and Chris Greer defeat Andy Martin and Gwen Henson 2-1.

The second semi-final witnessed Derek Rainey and Frank McDowell win a very tight final leg to beat Ashley Rainey and George Foster 2-1.

The final could have been one sided with Darnell and Chris racing to a 2-0 lead before Derek and Frank battled back to draw 2-2 and force a deciding leg.

In the final leg, Darnell and Chris held their nerves to hit the winning double with Derek and Frank ready to pounce if missed. Well done to all who took part on the night.
