Father and son duo are week's top performers

FATHER and son Fred and Frank McDowell were the star turns in Friday night's round of matches in the Clough Glasgow Rangers Supporters' Club-sponsored Ballymena, Harryville and District Darts League.

The Towers Tavern duo both hit 17-dart legs – the best of the week – as the Ballee side kept up their Division One title hopes with a win over Clough Rangers.

Elsewhere, there were celebrations in Connor as Buffs Club claimed their first win of the season in Division Two, at the expense of Coach Bar.

Other notable legs came from: 18 - John Kane; 19 - Gabe Kerr, Colin Millar, Roy Gilchrist, Fred McDowell; 20 - Dennis Gault, Stephen McIlroy, Shane Carling, George Barr, Ian Reynolds; 21 - Frank McDowell, Ryan Gault.

Tommy Wright (Towers Tavern) had the best finish of the week with a 100 checkout, followed by Ryan Gault (Fairhill Bar) 63.

Darren McNeill (Greenhills), Roy Gilchrist (Clough), Tommy Wright (Towers Tavern), Billy McDowell (Towers Tavern) and Dennis Gault (Fairhill Bar) all hit 180s.
