Fine debut cross-county performance from Conor

FIT N Running junior athlete Conor McQuillan produced a fine debut cross country performance at the NI and Ulster even age category championships at Rostrevor on Saturday afternoon.

Racing in the golden vest of Fit N Running’s parent club North Belfast Harriers, 14-year-old Conor took part in the under-16 event against much older and more experienced athletes.

He produced a determined display to finish in 19th place from a field of 64 runners over the 3500km course.

Conor, whose finishing time was 13 mins 1 sec, now hope to be selected for the County Antrim team for the Irish Championships.

ECOS PARKRUN

Also in action at the weekend was Mark McKinstry who finished in 5th place at the Ecos Parkrun in a time of 19 mins 31 secs.
