“The main objective of the programme is to improve pupils’ health and wellbeing and encourage them to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

“The programme is well received and I have been in 20 primary schools in the area in the past 2 years.

“In order to improve we have been tasked with running an event called Fit Families, this is simply a chance for the pupils in the programme to bring a family member along to School in the evening and play the games and receive some information on healthy living, as we feel it is important to educate the parents as well as the children.

“For the event at Ballymena Primary School, I have teamed up with Fitness First and they are going to provide the kids and parents with a 30 minute weight loss ur way session and then they will receive some coaching with myself,” added Maurice.
