John Alexander scored four times in Wakehurst Strollers' weekend win over Mountainview.

The striker scored four times as Jason Connolly’s side coasted to a 5-0 victory at Mountainview.

Of the other locally-based teams in action, Chimney Corner’s interest in the IFA Intermediate ended as they were beaten 3-1 at home by East Belfast.

Antrim Rovers also tasted defeat as they lost 3-2 at home to Mallusk Athletic in Junior Division One but their second string Swifts side beat Whitehead Rangers 2-1 in Junior Division Three.

Chimney Corner 1, East Belfast 3: The young Corner team went behind after Ryan Davidson scored on the 3rd minute then conceded another two goals scored by Steven Long on the 15th and 29th minutes.

The second half saw the Corner stage a fight-back and after Martin Butler scored on the 74th minute they were in with half a chance but then the East closed up shop for the win.

Result: Magherafelt Sky Blues 15, Sofia Farmer 1.

Round three result: Ballyclare Comrades Reserves 1, Newtowne 4.

Antrim Rovers 2, Mallusk Athletic 3: A late goal decided the outcome of this game between two evenly matched teams.

The first goal came on the 35th minute when Paul Walker scored for Mallusk.

Rovers got back on level terms after Conor Murray scored on the 53rd minute only to see Aidan McKeating put Mallusk back in front on the 67th minute.

Darren Adair struck back immediately for the Rovers scoring on the 68th minute and this score remained until Paul Walker scored the winner for Mallusk on the 81st minute.

Mountainview 0, Wakehurst Strollers 5: Wakehurst got back into winning ways in this game taking the lead after John Alexander scored on the 12th minute.

Wakehurst doubled their lead after Matthew Logan scored on the 33rd minute then two more goal scored by John Alexander on the 42nd and a penalty on the 45th minutes saw them four goals clear at half-time.

Mountainview tried hard to get back into the game in the second half but failed to breakdown a solid Wakehurst defence.

The Ballymena side got a fifth goal when John Alexander brought his tally to four in the game after he scored on the 75th minute.

Antrim Rovers Swifts 2, Whitehead Rangers 1: This was a very close game with the odd goal in three settling the issue in favour of the Swifts.

An own goal concede by the Rangers and one scored by Dean Wright was enough to win the game for the Swifts with the Rangers only scoring once.
