Those results were put into perspective, however, by the news of the deaths of two players within the league.

On Thursday, young FC Whiteabbey player James Maguire died in tragic circumstances then early on Saturday morning, league officials learned of the death of Andrew (Shuney) Moore.

Andrew, who was a very popular young man of 33 years had played for Moyola Park, Desertmartin and Bridge End United among other teams and was well known to the football fraternity, lost his battle to illness.

To the families of James and Andrew, everyone within the league and football family extend their deepest condolences on the loss of their loved ones.
