The Under 12s kept their George Best Youth League Title challenge on track with a comfortable win against Hillsborough Boys, knocking six past the Co Down Boys, with Conor Stewart in fine form netting four times for the team.

There was no joy at home for the Under 13s when they lost out to Lisburn Youth in the National League, whilst the Under 15s can feel extremely unlucky being knocked out of the National League Plate competition, taking the game to extra time but losing by a late goal to Dungannon Utd Youth.

The project run by Carniny Amateur & Youth FC and funded by the Policing in the Community Safety Partnership came to a close on Friday evening at Ballymena Showgrounds with more than 20 young people availing of the free facilities complemented by energy drinks sponsored by the organisers.

The programme has undoubtedly been a huge success, and has come to the attention of the Irish Football Association, with other neighbouring areas hoping to duplicate the idea.

Teenage Kickz will hopefully make a return in the near future and once again provide an alternative for young people from the Borough of Ballymena to take part in sport as an alternative to anti social behaviour.
