Club announces bumper rise in season ticket sales

IT'S not just on the pitch that things are going well for Ballymena United at present.

The club has announced that following the successful summer campaign to increase attendances, season ticket sales have risen by more than 20 per cent this season, compared with the previous year.

United’s loyal supporters have backed the initiative and raised just under 20,000 through the sales of season tickets, breaking records from the last ten years in revenue and tickets sold; including a 21.2 per cent increase on the 2009/2010 season.

Roy Walker’s ‘back to basics’ approach of local players has brought a buzz to the town and early home attendances having been very encouraging along with performances on the pitch.

Company Secretary Neil Coleman said: “It really shows the loyalty of the Ballymena United supporters and we are over the moon with the uptake in season tickets.

“We want to offer our supporters the best possible value for their money, as it can be forgotten how big a financial commitment it can be.

“Our fans deserve some benefit to their loyalty that goes beyond performances on the pitch and we have been working hard alongside the marketing team at the IFA, amongst others, to come up with incentives for season ticket holders.”
